Airborne Reconnaissance Survey of Northwestern Arizona (Arizona Strip) and Southwestern Utah
Abstract: From December 1953 to May 1954 an extensive airborne reconnaissance program was conducted in northwestern Arizona (Arizona Strip) and southwestern Utah. Five surface anomalies were detected, one of which has possible commercial value. All anomalies are within the boundaries of National Park Service jurisdiction, consequently, this report is not for public distribution until clearance is obtained from the National Park Service. A preliminary airborne reconnaissance program was also conducted in the Richfield area. No anomalies were discovered.

An analysis of shock-wave cancellation and reflection for porous walls which obey an exponential mass-flow pressure-difference relation

An Analysis of the Characteristics of Robert Schumann's Piano Works
The primary purpose of this thesis is to give the prospective performer of Schumann's piano works a better understanding of his many works for the piano and to give the pianist, and musicians in general, a better understanding of the pianistic devices employed by Schumann in his works for this instrument. Schumann rose to great heights for short intervals. He possessed enthusiasm, humor, charm, and eloquence. Such qualities have kept his music alive and have provided his listeners with lasting pleasure. Much of his music represents the nobility and warm-heartedness that characterized early Romanticism at its best.

Bending Tests on Box Beams Having Solid- and Open-Construction Webs
"The results of an exploratory experimental investigation of the effects of replacing alternate webs in a multiweb beam by open, post-stringer construction are reported. Post-stringer (either upright or inclined posts) construction is shown to perform the function of comparable-weight, solid, fabricated webs in the stabilization of the compression cover of a beam in bending both before and after buckling" (p. 1).

BOILING RUBIDIUM AS A REACTOR COOLANT. PREPARATION OF RUBIDIUM METAL, PHYSICAL AND THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES, AND COMPATIBILITY WITH INCONEL
Rubidium metal was investigated as a possible heattransfer medium for an aircraft reactor. The separation of rubidium from other alkali metals by ion exchange was demonstrated. Data are presented on the physical and thermodynamic properties of rubidium and corrosive effects on Inconel at elevated temperatures. It was concluded on the basis of empirical formulas that more heat can be transferred in a boiling rubidium system than in a comparable boiling water system. (C.H.)
