S. 66. This was the picture after rescuers cleared the last of victims from the wreckage. A woman and her 3-year-old daughter, riding in the auto, and four bus passengers were killed in this, one of the state's worst traffic accidents."

Caption: "Rampaging Auto Lands Driver in City Jail, This 1951 model automobile collided with another car early Wednesday at SW 26 and Walker, then jumped the curb, knocked down 30 feet of picket fence and crashes into brick building 108 feet from the intersection. The driver, Frank Eugene Settlemeyre, 24, of 7100 S. Shields, suffered only a minor cut on the face. He was treated at Mercy hospital and then jailed on a charge of reckless driving by drinking. Police said Settlemeyre's car collided with one driven by William Oliver McGill, 76, of 641 NE 12."
