Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "That's no road and the concrete culvert, foreground above, is nothing more than navigation bazard for Lake Hefner boatsmen. The point where the picture was taken in an old section line road just east of the boat docks. The dotted line shows where the lake level stands when full, a good 10 feet above the car parked on the high point, above left. The water under the culvert is all that remains of a once-wide arm of the big lake, which has been shrunk to small size by more than a year of drought. Water normally would be 20 to 30 feet deep at this point. The city's two reservoirs, Lake Hefner and Lake Overholser, now have only sufficient water to meet our needs until November 1."
