Carswell requests that Shepperd and Governor Shivers join him in his request to Governor Warren for clemency for Subject but only after reading the history and having full knowledge of the case.

Carswell requests help from the State of Texas in the retrieval of carpentry tools and funds from the State of California belonging to Subject A 9803.

The letter contains an advisement regarding Subject A-9808-A, that the Subject is doing well, but Carswell expounds on his carpentry work and restates the need for the remaining Postal Savings Certificates belonging to Subject to be transferred to him from California.

A letter written to Mr. William L. McGill, Executive Secretary, Executive Department, Austin, Texas from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, dated August 6, 1951. Carswell advises McGill regarding the conditional pardon of Subject advising that it should be revoked in reference to his misconduct while on parole thereby forfeiting any claim for clemency noting that the public will be best served by his return to prison.
