The Response of Amphibia and Rodents to Fish Gonadotropins (open access)

The Response of Amphibia and Rodents to Fish Gonadotropins

The purpose of this research is, first, to determine by laboratory methods, that species specificity does not exist in closely allied taxonomic animals; second, to determine a unit of activity for the gonadotropic hormone. For this purpose a quantitative method for determining potency is necessary to ascertain the seasonal production of the gonadotropic factor in fish. A further aim in this investigation is to demonstrate that the diversity of the gonadotropic factor, in relation to phylogenetic variations, is not as ineffectual as previously reported.

The Buckling of a Uniformly Compressed Plate with Intermediate Supports (open access)

The Buckling of a Uniformly Compressed Plate with Intermediate Supports

This problem has been selected from the mathematical theory of elasticity. We consider a rectangular plate of thickness h, length a, and width b. The plate is subjected to compressive forces. These forces act in the neutral plane and give the plate a tendency to buckle. However, this problem differs from other plate problems in that it is assumed that there are two intermediate supports located on the edges of the plate parallel to the compressive forces.

An Analytical Study of the Practices in the Administration and Conduct of Women's Fencing Programs in Colleges in Texas with the Development of a Manual on Fencing for College Women

Since most publications on fencing are written by the "professionals and the fencing masters," an effort has also been made to develop a fencing manual to be used by the individuals who have had the fundamentals of fencing, and as a guide to the beginning fencers in order to equip them with the necessary material for teaching and learning fencing.
