It also contains requests for monthly reports, plans for local Christmas programs, and meeting dates of local councils.

Letter from Bob Cruz, LULAC Texas Regional Governor, to all Texas Councils of LULAC dated November 25, 1949. This is a notification of the upcoming Regional Convention to be held in Corpus Christi, Texas, on January 28 and 29, 1950. Cruz asks for hotel reservation requests, resolutions and recommendations to be presented, and monthly reports of local council activities. On the reverse side of this letter is a typed draft of a telegram from John J. Herrera, Acting Texas Regional LULAC Governor, asking for a program of the convention and conveying hotel reservation requests.

Castañeda has already sent his application for a visa to the Consulates of Brazil and Argentina. Letter from Carter Wesley, Editor of the Houston Informer, to John J. Herrera dated February 1, 1949. Carter is acknowledging receipt of a copy of the LULAC News sent by Herrera. Carter is impressed by the magazine and wants to subscribe. He also acknowledges the similarities of the segregation issues faced by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the League of United Latin American Citizens.
