Castañeda has already sent his application for a visa to the Consulates of Brazil and Argentina. On the letter handwritten in pencil: "Hurry, a favor to consider. 8th floor, P5111, New Orleans...Consul of Chile"

The Houston Junior LULAC installation was held March 27, 1949 at the Havana Club of 100 young men and women between the ages of 14 and 18. The guest of honor at the installation ceremonies was Dr. Carlos C. Castaneda of the University of Texas.

Western Union telegram from Mrs. L. S. Rodriguez, Secretary, to John J. Herrera dated March 25, 1949. This was to advise Herrera that Mr. Cortez was in the hospital and unable to attend the meeting on March 27, probably the installation ceremonies for the Houston Junior LULACS.
