Maher confirms that, between now and September 1st, if Carswell is unable to give them any business they will feel it necessary to cancel his agency agreement.

A letter written to Louis A. Johnson, Secretary of Defense, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, dated June 6, 1949. Carswell advises of the needs of a "wholly dependent mother, helplessly ill, of an enlisted man" and requests information regarding U. S. Army help for the families of enlisted men. He requests that the proper authority in their Department reply as to "what the Army can do if it wants to", that the Army can do something if it wants to, therefore, this inquiry is to find out what it can do.

A Western Union telegram sent to Dr. Jesse Northcut First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas, from Walter H. McKenzie, Dallas, Texas, dated June 24, 1949. McKenzie requests of Northcut to send telegrams immediately to his representatives in Austin urging that they "kill" the Vicks Senate amendment to House Bill 84. McKenzie asks Northcut to encourage others to send telegrams. The reverse side includes answer written by TNC [T. N. Carswell] dated June 27, 1949; "To require L. B. [Liquor Board] to face license in court with evidence before cancellation of license. Seems but fair - hence ranks encouraged Tippen to favor."

A letter written to Rupert [Rupert Johnson,] from T. N. Carswell, dated June 12, 1949. Carswell advises that he did not look at the market business realistically confiding that he cannot see anything but another downward trend and gives a report on the local economy.
