The writer of this thesis was assigned to teach in this community and as a result became interested in the rating of the school plant, and to realize further ambition, made the following study using as an instrument of measurement the evaluative criteria set up by the Cooperative Study of Secondary School Standards, Section K.

The problem of this study was to determine the relationship between chronological age and reading achievement and between chronological age and personality development in school children.

The objective of this investigation was to make two surveys relating to environmental control in the Azle Elementary School, Azle, Texas. The first survey was designed to furnish a list of favorable and unfavorable factors in classroom environment as they existed in the Azle Elementary School at the close of the school session of 1946-1947, and the second survey , conducted in the same school approximately a year later, was for the purpose of ascertaining what improvements had been made in the interim in order to increase the educative values in the classroom environment of this school.

The purpose of this study is to make an investigation of some factors thought to be associated with the elimination of one hundred pupils from the White Settlement Junior High School near Fort Worth, Texas, over a period of three years.

The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) to formulate criteria for evaluating the activities of a junior high school, and (2) to determine the extent to which the program of the White Settlement Junior High School, Tarrant County, Texas, meets these criteria. In so doing, attention is given to many phases of the school and its program.

The purpose of this study is to determine the reasons for the superior reading ability of two groups of twenty children each in the fifth grade of the Oakhurst School, Fort Worth, Texas.
