Four UNIDENTIFED Men Gathered Around a Bermudagrass Sprig Planter Invented by Paul Browning and DeBoy Wheatley of Region 4, SCS

Photograph of four UNIDENTIFED men gathered around a Bermudagrass sprig planter invented by Paul Browning and DeBoy Wheatley of Region 4, SCS. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Bermuda grass sprig planter invented by Paul Browning and DeBoy Wheatley of Region 4, SCS. Several improvements were made on the original machine created by Joe Hart of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Improvements included mounting wheels behind opening plows, which packed the furrows where grassed; this made possible elimination of packer wheels, the grass hoppers were widened, floating plow beams and gauge wheel were installed, the ratchet gear was removed and rate of grass can now be increased by the addition of various sized sprockets; a power lift was installed."
