The problem of this thesis consists primarily of a bacteriological survey of the eating utensils of Hardin College Cafeteria and twenty-five other eating establishments in the city of Wichita Falls, Texas. This investigation was made primarily with reference to a determination of the possible presence of typhoid and related organisms, and secondarily to an investigation of the actual presence of those bacterial organisms associated with the more common outbreaks of food poisoning.

The purpose of this study is to determine the sound steps or procedures for the administrator to follow in organizing a community school. It will attempt to show ways of utilizing to the fullest possible extent the resources of the community.

"The problem of this thesis is to determine through survey and comparative study the effect of the activity program of Denton's El Centro, the youth center, on the youth of the City of Denton...methods of operation and internal organization of youth centers, the purpose of the centers and the results of some of the activities are outlined. Members of the Denton youth center were interviewed; the information gained from the interviews was recorded on prepared questionnaires. Various types of activities at Denton's youth center are discussed. The study also attempts to reveal by means of tables those activities which are more important to the male youth of Denton. It will be a part of the purpose of this paper to show that Keynesian economics treats a closed economy in a static condition while American and British society in actuality exist in open economies in a dynamic condition. In scope this paper is limited to an appraisal of the first of the main concepts of John Maynard Keynes' General Theory. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of filmstrips upon a group of first-grade pupils as compared to another group of first-grade pupils not using filmstrips.

The study herein described represents a continuation of the work on 5-(2-thienyl)-5-substituted hydantoins which has been in progress in the laboratories of the North Texas State College for the past several years. The problem under consideration is to determine the effect of certain prevailing environmental conditions of a distracting nature upon the process of study in the first grade. The conditions selected, those which are common to the schoolroom or home environment, were chewing gum, physical education classes, room confusion, rhythm band, singing, and recorded music. This study attempted to determine to what degree, if any, each of these distracting environmental conditions affect the process of study in the first grade.

The purpose of this research is, first, to determine by laboratory methods, that species specificity does not exist in closely allied taxonomic animals; second, to determine a unit of activity for the gonadotropic hormone. For this purpose a quantitative method for determining potency is necessary to ascertain the seasonal production of the gonadotropic factor in fish. A further aim in this investigation is to demonstrate that the diversity of the gonadotropic factor, in relation to phylogenetic variations, is not as ineffectual as previously reported.

This study is for the purpose of making a critical analysis of the health program of the white elementary public schools of Cleburne, Texas with implications for other other cities of corresponding size. This analysis is to evaluate the effectiveness of such a health program in light of certain evaluative criteria. In this study an effort is made to determine how certain factors are related to success in elementary college accounting at North Texas State College. The factors which are considered are: grades made in high school bookkeeping, size of high school attended, sex, age, military service, marital status, intelligence, college classification of the student, and high school bookkeeping credit earned by the student.

This study deals with an investigation of letterman in track in North Texas State Teachers College during the ten- year period of 1930-31 through 1939-40, as compared with football lettermen of the same period. More especially, it is a study of the program, the accomplishments, and the later occupations followed by the individual athletes who earned letters in track. The status of the athletes was considered from the standpoint of their athletic and scholastic attainments as well as their social activities while in college, The athletes were also considered from the standpoint of position and location since leaving college. It is recommended that in the near future a similar study be made of the other sports in North Texas State College to parallel this study.

The purpose of this study was to examine the complete number of failures for the school year, 1948-1949, in the elementary school of a small Texas town in an effort to determine the relative weight of emotional maladjustment and other factors as causes of such failures; and, if possible, to advance suggested remedies for such failures.
