A letter written to Mother [Eula Clark], Albuquerque, New Mexico from [Worth Clark, Jr.], dated December 8, 1948. Worth Clark describes his jobs of coaching and refereeing and that he is considering staying in the Army. He advises that Eula Clark needs to move to where he is to save money and be near hospital. Clark acknowledges, in a postscript, of the receipt of Eula's letters before he mailed this letter noting that it looked as though their minds were running in the same channel. He restates the efficiency of them sharing living space and expenses, that if a girl comes along they would decide then what to do.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Milton [Milton Whiting], Whiting Oil Company, Clifton Forge, Virginia, dated November 27, 1948. Whiting acknowledges his receipt of Carswell's letter and check noting that he will have approximately 1000 miles on the car to have it broken in and explains regarding the care of the car. He requests that when Carswell comes for the car that he be given "a day or two's notice" so he will not be "out of place".

Foy advises Carswell that the organization of the Hardin-Simmons University Ex-Students Association looks like a step in the right direction. This correspondence is typewritten at the top left of the page of the letter sent to The Executive Committee, Ex-Students Association and HSU regarding the proposal to establish the HSU Ex-Students Association as a permanent unit and to create a Planning Commission.

Whiting apologizes for not sending yesterday's letter by air mail but that he needed to note, also, that they will be away November 24th-November 26th and to let him know when he will be there to pick up the car.

Williams advises Carswell of his enthusiasm and concern regarding the proposed Planning Commission and offers to work further on such a commission when in Abilene for homecoming.

Whiting advises of the enclosed copy of an invoice for the car which totals $1,558.71. He advises that the car has 400 miles on it and that he will break it in more to suit Carswell but assures that it will be in great condition after Carswell drives it home. Enclosure included an inoice addressed to Whiting Oil Company, Clifton Forge, Virginia from Wood Chevrolet Company, Clifton Forge, Virginia dated November 5, 1948. 1948 Fleetmaster 4-door. Total cost is $1558.71.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Arthur Du Laney, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Roswell, New Mexico dated November 13, 1948. Du Laney advises of his approval regarding the proposed Planning Commission.

Sandefer replies to a letter from Carswell regarding the proposed Planning Commission in which he suggests the need for an active ex-students association and a good public relations department. In regards to this suggestion Sandefer advises that he has received letters concerning funding for the Hunter Memorial from contacts that should be followed up.

He explains details regarding the registration of the vehicle and the emphasizes the confidentiality of the sale. He advises that he will be adding a hot water heater and servicing it, and, also, of the requirements regarding a rust inhibitor and of the estimated cost of the car.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from C. Kenneth Hill, Jr., Executive Ex-Students Secretary, Hardin-Simmons University dated November 2, 1948. Reminder regarding a meeting to be held on November 27 at Mac Eplen's Drive-In of the Ex-Students associational officers and board of directors. Carswell and his committee are requested to bring before the group that is being called to meet, their recommendation which was discussed in a previous meeting with the executive officers. Carswell makes a handwritten notation dated December 2, 1948 advising that the attached proposal has not been acted upon as of today

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from T. E. Roberts, Secretary, Board of Trustees, Hendrick Memorial Hospital dated October 18, 1948. Notification by Roberts of a meeting of the Board of Trustees which has been called by Mr. Anderson. Dinner will be served and a tour through the new Surgery Department and of the new section assigned to polio cases will be made.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Allen N. Carswell, Homerville, Georgia, dated October 7, 1948. Allen Carswell expresses his sympathy for the condition that Eula is in, noting that she has not ever listened to him nor to any of the family and that her son had better try and do something for his mother to take care of her. He dissertates on his family, after marrying, as "having had lots of sickness" and about how much money he has always spent on them. Allen advises, in a postscript, that he is sending fifty dollars to Eula.

Mr. Frank McLaughlin, President of Puget Sound, now favors the sale of property to the City of Seattle.
