Transcriptions of three letters regarding the death of Thomas Wetherald during the "Second Battle of the Philippines." The first is from Lt. Comdr. E. E. Roberts to Mr. And Mrs. Wetherald, dated December 21, 1944, providing the particulars of Tom's death. The second letter is from Harry Wetherald to Lt. Comdr. E. E. Roberts, dated December 26, 1944. He thanks Roberts for his letter about his son, Thomas Wetherald, who dies in action in the Battle Off Samar on the U.S.S. Samuel B. Roberts. The third letter is from Captain Robert W. Copeland to Mr. And Mrs. Wetherald, dated April 25, 1945, providing his account of the particular's surrounding Tom's death.
