He advises that Carswell is rendering the Legionnaires a real service by bringing the matter to their attention. Dilworth confirms that this issue is turning out as both he and Carswell prophesied. Dilworth compares this appropriation of funds stating, "Any one who would introduce a measure in the legislature of Texas to appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of electing Coke Stevenson President of the United States would so shock the public conscience that he would be adjudged a lunatic. Yet that is exactly what the Department Executive Committee of the Texas Department is doing."
