They went to the friend's camp and talked. Willis mentions that it's been very cold, so much so that he sleeps with four blankets and is still cold.

Letter from John Todd Willis, Jr. to John T. Willis, Sr. on August 12, 1944, asking his father if he knows a man named Marvin George who used to work at First National Bank in Waco. George sends on his regards to a Miss Todd who used to work at the bank. Willis wishes he could be home to help his father with fishing, and goes on to say he had a letter from Robert [Evans] Jr. and they hope to see each other soon.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from William D. Hassett, Secretary to the President, The White House, Washington, dated July 12, 1944. Hassett expresses appreciation from the President for the letter from Carswell, for "this frank and thoughtful expression of your views". The envelope into which the letter was placed is also included in the record. Postmarked envelope addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas with a forwarding address to Selective Service, Local Board No. 1, Victoria, Texas from The White House, Official Business, postmarked Washington, DC, July 13, 1944. The reverse side includes a second postmark of Abilene, Texas, July 17, 1944.

Letters to and from the office of Dr. Meyer Bodansky. The first letter, which is dated May 13, 1944 from John J. Conboy and his mother, Marie Conboy, is split into two sections, one for each author. The first section urges Dr. Bodansky to consider examining the aftermath of John J. Conboy's mental elapse, physical break-down, and nervous exhaustion. The second section, which is from John's mother, emphasizes the request. The second letter is from Rose Framer on behalf of Dr. Bodansky. It states that the previous letter was received, however the doctor is ill so he will answer it as soon as possible. The third letter is from the Business Manager of the Physicians Postgraduate Press Leonard Kornfeld. The letter requests that Dr. Bodansky examine the sample journal that was sent with the letter and subscribe if he enjoys it.
