Badly Damaged Cotton Field

Photograph of a cotton field which has been badly damaged wheee the salt Fork River cut across a bend. The field is now filled with scouring channels 10 to 15 feet wide and 2 feet deep. Other parts of the field is silted in from 2 to 18 inches.

Santa Fe (ATSF) 3184

A photograph print showing Santa Fe 3184, 2-8-2, on a livestock extra [white flags] taking on water at Kaw City, OK. (Note man on water crane.) The 229 "mikes" just like this one were the workhorses on Santa Fe freight except in mountainous areas. The line is now abandoned and under about 30 feet of water of Kaw Lake. The outhouse showing behind fromt (sic) of engine was moved to new site of Kaw City along with the depot.
