This bulletin discusses methods for handling, loading, and transporting southern new potatoes in the United States. It explains the importance of grading potatoes, removing bruised and diseased potatoes from the crop before transport, and loading cars properly. Potatoes may be loaded into cars in barrels, sacks, and crates, but hampers should not be used.

This bulletin discusses the cattle-fever tick and methods for controlling it. Possible methods include dipping, pasture rotation, and arsenical dips. The life history of the tick is also discussed.

From General Statement Purpose of the Report: "The present investigation was undertaken for the purpose of supplying some of the material so badly needed in the valuation and more efficient operation of oil properties. Because of the lack of time for further studies, the amount of data already accumulated and the policy of the Bureau of Mines of publishing as soon as possible any information that may be of use to an industry, the bulletin is issued now."

Letter from Victor Lauderdale to his father on American YMCA Stationary, dated May 11, 1919. The letter is brief and informs his father of a letter he enclosed for his mother in celebration of mothers day despite her death with the sentiment "We were with her in life; even so in death we shall be with her." He goes on to mention a trip to Belgium that he is contemplating taking before he comes back to the states.

Patent for an improved apparatus for treating hydrocarbons. This apparatus is for treating comparatively heavy petroleum and other hydrocarbon oils and their distillates and derivatives, in order to produce from such heavy oils a large yield of gasoline or other light, easily volatile liquids. This apparatus will be a safe and efficient way to produce large yield of gasoline and light hydrocarbon liquids from heavy oils and will be free from trouble arising from the accumulation of carbon.
