Both automobiles bear the American flag, and the word Dort is on the windshields of the cars. Dort references the make of the automobiles. Soldiers sit or stand by their vehicles; two soldiers are standing atop of the wagon. In front of the oxen there are two dogs. Maybe these soldiers brought their pets along on the Punitive Expedition or adopted them along the way.

Each soldier has their rifle, a backpack, canteen, ammunition, and a distinct belt with pouches to hold items in. Among the many duties assigned, guarding the international bridges was a high priority at the time. An early twentieth century bicycle can be seen next to a cluster of soldiers, leaning up against a beam.

Postcard of the 6th Ohio Band from the military during a parade. Children can be seen walking near the parade following the soldiers on either side. A dog can be seen in the bottom left corner of the photograph, it appears to be following the leader of the parade. On the back of the postcard there is writing. The note says, " 9/21/16.
