How a City Family Managed a Farm
"This bulletin is a record of the experience of a city family that moved onto a farm in 1892. The father had been a lawyer by profession, the manager for a well-established business firm in one of the principal cities of the Middle West, and was earning a salary of $3,000 a year. At 60 years of age, having been in business about twenty-five years, he was compelled on account of ill health to abandon his profession and business.... The family decided to buy a farm and attempt to solve the problem confronting them, namely, 'to make a living, educate the children, and make a pleasant home.' This paper will how they satisfactorily solved the problem.... An attempt will be made to present such facts about this farm as will enable the reader to comprehend under what conditions and by what means the results were accomplished; hence, a description of the farm and the methods of operating it will be given in some detail." -- p. 5

Marketing Eggs Through the Creamery
Report discussing different methods for the delivery and marketing of eggs. A creamery in Minnesota has cleverly signed agreements with local farmers which allows farmers to deliver their eggs along with their milk and cream to the creamery. The creamery then markets the eggs on behalf of the farmers and keeps a small share of the profit for itself. This method of marketing eggs greatly reduces spoilage.

The Sanitary Privy
"Among the worst conditions ever to be found about any home is a soil that has become polluted with excrement from the human body. A number of widely prevalent diseases have been spread by means of such polluted soil, simply because the facts have not been generally known. This bulletin treats of such soil pollution and certain simple plans for avoiding it." -- p. 3. These unsanitary conditions can be largely eliminated through the installation of different kinds of privies. In addition to a discussion of the different types of privies and methods for constructing them, this report also details common diseases spread by human excrement.

The Treatment of Bee Diseases
"The diseases which attack the honey bee may be divided into two classes, namely, those affecting the brood and those to which the adult bees are subject. The diseases of adult bees have not been investigated sufficiently to make it possible at the present time to recommend methods for their treatment. In the present bulletin, therefore, only a brief statement concerning these diseases will be made, mainly for the purpose of indicating the present state of knowledge on these subjects. Concerning the diseases of the brood more is known, and this is particularly fortunate since they are far more destructive in American apiaries than are the diseases of the adult bees.... The aim of this bulletin is to give information that can be used by the practical beekeeper in combating bee diseases." -- p. 5
