A note on the back of the photograph states that this is a photo of the Juarez Mayor's Office and that the photo was taken in May of 1911, the time frame when the Battle of Juarez occurred and revolutionary forces took over the city. A carriage is stopped in front of the building. Next to the City Council building is El Sauz, a local meat market.
