Nuyaka Mission Boarding School
Boys, girls and teachers at the Nuyaka Mission Boarding School for Creek Indian boys and girls. Photo is dated Oct, 1891. The mission was located in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, approximately 15 miles west of the town of Okmulgee. The mission was established by Alice Mary Robertson at the request of the Creek Indian Council, and initially operated by the Presbyterian Church.

Wedding portrait of Mary Kramr and Rehor Zapalac, 1891. The Zapalac family operated general stores in Fredek, TX and Sealy, TX. Zapalac is wearing a three piece suit with pin-striping. He has a flower pinned to the right side of the jacket. His hair is parted down the center. Kramr is wearing a satin jacket with buttons from neck to waist. Skirt is long and has lace trim in two rows near hemline; lace also at wrists and collar. Her veil reaches floor length. Photograph of Abner Rayburn. The black and white photograph is of a young Abner Rayburn, possibly at age nine or ten (around 1900). He wears a dark, double breasted coat with a white collared shirt. The studio portrait shows Abner from the waist up. Abner was born in 1891, the youngest of Sam Rayburn's siblings and the only sibling born in Texas (the Rayburn family moved from Tennessee to Texas in 1887). He died in 1914 of typhoid fever.

Built in 1891, the Normal Building was the first building built on the North Texas Normal College campus, on what is now the corner of Oak and Avenue B. In 1907, the building was struck by lightning and destroyed. The photograph shows the front entrance stairs of the building, with two women and a man seated on the ground in front, and a group of 46 men and women standing on the stairs. Photograph taken between 1891 and 1907.
