National Uranium Resource Evaluation: Mesa Quadrangle, Arizona

From Purpose and Scope: "The Mesa Quadrangle, Arizona (Fig. 1), was evaluated to identify geologic environments and delineate areas that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits. Favorable environments, as determined by surface and subsurface investigations, are those that could contain uranium deposits of at least 100 tons (90 metric tons) U3O8 with an average grade not less than 100 parts per million (ppm) U3O8."

Prescott Quadrangle, Arizona (open access)

Prescott Quadrangle, Arizona

From Introduction: "The Prescott 1º by 2º quadrangle (Fig. 1) was investigated to identify areas where geologic environments exhibit characteristics favorable for uranium deposits. The defined goal was to evaluate all geologic environments to a depth of 1500 m (5,000 ft) and assign each environment to one of two categories: Favorable for uranium deposits that could contain at least 100 tons U3O8 in rocks having an average grade not less than 100 ppm U3O8. Unfavorable for such deposits."

National Uranium Resource Evaluation, Flagstaff Quadrangle, Arizona

From purpose and scope: The purpose of this study is to identify and delineate areas favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits "which could contain at least 100 metric tons of U308 with an average grade of not less than 100 ppm U308". The study was limited to depths of less than 1500 m (5000 ft). No attempt was made to make the economics of recovering uranium a criterion for selecting favorable areas, except that the uranium be in a "mineable configuration".
