Cooperative Measurements of Radio Fading in 1925

Corrected Optical Pyrometer Readings
Report presenting a table of corrected optical pyrometer readings which enables optical pyrometer users to convert observed temperature immediately to the true temperature, if the effective emissivity of the material being observed is known. The table gives observed temperatures from 1,000 to 3,000ºK in increments of 5 degrees, from 3,000 to 5,000ºK in increments of 10 degrees, from 5,000 to 10,000ºK in increments of 50 degrees, and from 10,000 to 39,900ºK in increments of 100 degrees. For these, true temperatures are tabulated for 49 emissivities ranging from 0.02 to 0.98 in increments of 0.02.

Creep and Drying Shrinkage of Lightweight and Normal-Weight Concretes
From Scope of Investigation: "The work reported here is part of a continuing program concerning the long-term volume changes in concretes made from lightweight and normal-weight aggregates. The creep, drying-shrinkage, and strength data presented are for concretes made with 24 expanded shale lightweight aggregates and 5 natural, normal-weight aggregates. These aggregates were from widely separated geographical locations and were to be representative samples of aggregates being used in the production of structural concretes."

Criteria for the Installation of Energy Conservation Measures
From abstract: Standard installation practices were developed to assist in assuring the effectiveness and safety of energy conservation measures installed under the Residential Conservation Service (RCS). They serve as mandatory standards under RCS but are recommended guides for all installations of the covered materials and products. Cryogenic Fluids Density Reference System: Provisional Accuracy Statement (1980)
Abstract: The improved Density Reference System, the reference densimeter, and the method of determining sample density are described. The uncertainty of the density reference system is + 0.055%. The contribution from the estimated systema -ic error in density was + 0.022%. The estimated uncertainty caused by random error is three times the standard deviation of 0.011% and is based on sixty-three measurements of the densities of saturated liquid methane. The total density uncertainty is taken to be the sum of the systematic and random errors. This applies to the density range of 400 to 480 kg/m at pressures from 0.8 to 4 bar absolute and temperatures between 109 and 128 K. This accuracy statement is expected to apply over ranges of at least 400 to 1000 kg/m3 in density, 77 to 300 K in temperature, and 0.8 to 7 bar in pressure though the accuracy over these ranges has not been verified.

Curves of Input Impedance Change Due to Ground for Dipole Antennas
Report presenting graphs of the change in input impedance of electrically short dipole antennas in the presence of an isotropic and homogeneous ground which considers four types of antennas: horizontal and vertical, electric and magnetic dipoles.
