Walters, Vice-President and Executive Editor, Minneapolis Star Journal and Tribune, dated December 9, 1941. Walters advises Carswell that the song lyrics of "Ballad for Americans", written by a WPA worker, is what expresses his definition of Americanism writing that the chorus asks: "And who are you?"
