It is a "Message from the President of the United States", Andrew Jackson, concerning the recent establishment of the Republic of Texas following their battles with Mexico. There is also another message from John Forsyth below on the same paper. Page 6, is the start of the "Constitution of the Republic of Texas" and includes a list of names in two columns at the top. Page 7, is section 7 through 17 of the "Constitution of the Republic of Texas".

[Pages clv-clvii in the book La creación]

Photographs of three pages in the first volume of "La creación" held by UNT Special Collections. It is a Spanish translation of a series of novels by Alfred E. Brehm, a zoologist and illustrator who traveled the world investigating natural histories and working to establish what is now termed "scientific racism". Page clv has two columns of text and two illustrations titled "Cafre" and "Venus hotentote" both now recognized as offensive terms. Page clvi has two columns of text and two illustrations titled "Negros australianos" and "Tipo esquimal. Cráneo de groenlandés" for the Aboriginal Australian people and the skull of an Inuit of the area around Greenland. On page clvii there are two columns of text and three illustrations of different skulls. The first depicts the disorder Scaphocephaly, the second is of a Patagonian, and the third is of an Australian.
