Patent for new and useful improvement in Belt-fastners by which the end of the belt may be quickly united and held without cutting holes in it.

Patent for a new and improved churn. This design "relates to improvements in churn-powers in which suitable gearing and frame-work operate in conjunction with a vertically-reciprocating dasher; and the objects of [the] improvements are, first, to provide for the quick and convenient detaching of the churn from the driving mechanism; and, second, to afford facilities for the proper adjustment of the device to the different sizes of churns" (lines 7-16).

Patent for a new and improved combined planter and cultivator. This design has for its object "to facilitate the planting of seed and the cultivating of plants, and to promote convenience in adjusting the machines for the different kinds of work. The invention consists in the construction, arrangement, and combination of parts" (lines 21-27).

Patent for a new and improved book rest. This design consists "of an upright pivoted in a support or base, a sliding lower supporting cross-bar, an upper sliding supporting-bar, both bars having sockets upon their rear sides sliding upon the upright and provided with set-screws, and leaf-clamps consisting of a piece of spring doubled at one end to form slides sliding upon the arms of the upper cross-bar, forming curved yielding portions, forming transverse eyes at the other ends, having flat blocks hinged at the said eyes, and provided with thumb-pieces" (lines 72-83).

Patent for a new and improved vehicle wheel. This design "consists in the peculiar construction, combination, and arrangement of the parts, whereby a single damaged spoke may be removed and a new spoke inserted without releasing the several spokes comprising the wheel" (lines 11-16).

Patent for a new and improved knockdown barrel. This design "is to provide a cheap and easily constructed knockdown barrel for shipping fruit and other commodities. [The] improvement consists of the construction and arrangement of parts" (lines 7-11).

Patent for a new and improved engine. This design "is to convert a given rotary into a vertical reciprocating motion, and to provide means whereby the stroke of the reciprocating motion may be increased or diminished, according to the use or work to which the machine may be applied; and to these ends the novelty consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of the same" (lines 10-18).

Patent for method of refrigerating railroad cars.

Patent for a new and improved spark arrester. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the stack, of the upper and lower portions . . . of the inner cylinder, separated by the annular opening, the spiral wing-guide, the collar-flange, between the stack-wall and [a] section, and the cylindrical partition below said collar-flange in the flue" (lines 73-79).

Patent for a new and improved table. This design "can be adjusted vertically by turning the screw-spindle, or it can be drawn upward, and will be held in position by the spring-catch, which catches on the shoulders. If the table is to be used at a sick-bed, it can be projected laterally by drawing the table-top in the direction in which it is to project, the track-plate sliding in the grooved plate. The table-top can be locked in the desired position by means of the binding screw" (lines 90-100).

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design "is to provide hand-cultivators constructed in such a manner as to cut up and destroy grass and weeds without throwing the soil around and covering small plants, and without breaking the soil away from around the plants" (lines 16-21).

Patent for a new and improved whip. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the spring-wire core and rubber-compound covering of the body of the whip, and the metallic coupling of the detachable screw whip-handle constructed to form a clasp-knife" (lines 85-89).

Patent for a new and improved folding table. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a table having a triangular top plate, of the hinged triangular leaf, the sliding strip, the leg, and the brace-rod, secured on the inner end of the strip and on the leg" (lines 60-64).

Patent for a new and improved saddle. This design "consists in a rubber or other elastic seat having a thick central portion with tapering thin edges and a leather covering for the same" (lines 9-11).

Patent for a new type of plow granted to Anton Schindler.

Patent for a new and improved cotton chopper. This design "consist[s] of the frame, raised axle, and arch, having at one end the bearing, the transverse shaft carrying the bevel-gear, and journaled in said bearing, and the vertical arm, the said shaft also carrying a sprocket-wheel, which is connected to a similar wheel upon the axle by means of the endless chain, the cutter-shaft, journaled at opposite ends in the arms . . . and the removable cutter" (lines 68-77).
