Steve Franklin got married to Hetty Neal and there should be more weddings. She mentions that the wheat is not doing well. She made some apple butter, preservatives and jelly. Dinky and Birdie like the ketchup. They have gathered soup beans, cornfield beans, back beans, and cornfield peas. There was a jollification in town. She asks how Linnet is doing with her studies. She mentions that Birdie wants the Moore's to hurry and come visit. William mentions the state of the wheat also and the prices in his county. Wallace is unwell, but continues to go to the tavern.
