Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Here's how a big city-state highway project emerges from the blueprint stage, and begins to take shape as the new bypass route on U.S. 66. In the foreground is a culvert form, and beyond that the big tread marks left by the tires of heavy earth-moving equipment trace the general path of the new road from the southeast corner of NE 63 and Eastern over the hill in the extreme background, around a bend in Deep Fork creek, and on to connect with Lincoln at about NE 50. This is the first section of the by-pass route, and construction work is being done by W. E. Logan & Sons, Muskogee contractors, whose low bid of $508,806 won the job."

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Things you accept as commonplace sometimes take on unsuspected beauty. Consider, for example, that thing the photographers call "camera angles." The probing photo lens finds highlights, shadows, lines of perspective and structural patterns the eye doesn't see in its preoccupation with everything within the range of vision. This picture of the Northwest Baptist church, NW 21 and Drexel, illustrates the point. Staff photographer Joe Miller's curious lens found other stricking angle shots around the city."
