Postcard of a fire department at their station, lined up with five horse-drawn vehicles outside their respective garage doors. To the right of the rightmost wagon, there is a sixth door that says, "Police." On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "An account of the stupendous amount of work in my department at present. I am unable to make up my list of correspondents. For this you can permit me to decline your offer."

Postcard from J. P. Eagan to George Pendexter describing the truck in the photo on the reverse side and its location. The photo shows a Webb Engine fire truck belonging to the St. Louis Fire Department in St. Louis, Missouri; the truck is parked outside of Station 43 in the city. Five firemen are also in the picture, four are on the truck and one is sitting in the garage entrance.
