IMPROVED WORK DIRECTORS

Activities aimed at improving work directors which program the instructions required for fabricating printed wiring board assemblies included designing solid-state switching circuitry for improved reliability, evaluating interface cabling techniques, studying visual-aid display-lamp mounting, and packaging innovations for product interface and troubleshooting convenience. The prototype solid-state work director functions satisfactorily. Recommendations for the design and fabrication of future work directors include wire-wrapped terminal construction technique and use of light-emitting diodes to replace conventional incandescent lamps.
