In the foreground, right side: a group of men work with lumber. Tents are visible in between the large oak trees in the middle of the image. And, an unknown mountain peak, with high cliff walls, in the distant background. This postcard was addressed to Mrs. Henry Horne, Hallowell, Maine, Box 185. The message reads: 'Camped along side of a stream in Mexico Walter'. The postcard is post marked El Paso, Texas, Nov. 6, 1916.

In this image, the 6TH Infantry is marching west, towards downtown El Paso, on San Antonio Ave. According to the El Paso Herald, Tuesday Evening, November 16, 1915, page 2: "The Sixth infantry was commanded by Lieut. Col. E. V. Smith with his adjutant, Capt. E. H. Agnew,"..."The parade was reviewed at Cleveland Square stand by Gen. John J. Pershing, Commander of the Eight Infantry Brigade".

Postcard of soldiers shooting cannons in a field, with the caption, "Bat. D. 119th F.A. in action. Camp MacArthur, Waco, Texas." A handwritten note on the back of the postcard is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. J. Claude Hill in Hartford, Michigan and says, "Dear Folks, Am getting along fine. Can limp around without my crutches. I am listed as a cannoneer and will be one of this bunch on the other side when I get well enough I expect! Will write you a letter soon. Loving son [?]."

Postcard from Walter to Miss Gertrude Winterborne, writing to say he arrived that morning and will return at night. The front of the postcard features an illustration of a long, narrow road running parallel to a long, curving railroad track between two large, bush- and tree-covered hills.

Postcard sent out by the Local Board of Grundy County in Iowa to notify Ejner L. Wind to appear for a physical examination. The front of the postcard gives information about the date of the examination, and also warns Ejner that failure to appear may result in a loss of rights or immediately induct him to imprisonment or military service. On the back of the postcard, there is postage information.

Postercard from Lillian G. to Junia Roberts Osterhout. On the back, Lillian wrote some brief news about San Antonio, TX and that she found the postcard in a Japanese store. The front of the card has gold embossed images of huts by a lake, birds, and a boat. The background consists of a mountain with a white top and clouds.

Postcard from Rose Chamberlin to Ora Osterhout Wade discussing recent events. She says that she went to the carnival every night during the fair. The postcard has a picture of a house on the front, and it is addressed to Mrs. C. B. Wade in Temple, Texas. It is postmarked San Antonio, Texas.

Postcard to Linnet White from an unknown author about their return home and the writer's plans to teach the next few nights among other small bits of news. The writer says they intend to write a letter when they have the time.

Postcard of the Texas Cotton Palace in Waco, Texas at night, the building outlined with small colored lights. A handwritten note on the back of the postcard is addressed to Mrs. Fred Setchell in Canaan, Maine, and says "Dear Ross. I am at McGregor visiting Tina. Yesterday we spent all day in Waco. Went out to Oakwood to visit the little grave. Twenty-five years this month. The afternoon at Cotton Palace. Such a crowd. Will return home tonight. With great deal of love to all. From Aunt Effa."

Postcard from J. P. Eagan to George Pendexter with a note describing the picture on the reverse side: "This shows Truck 8-13-6 at work on Essex Fire 821 Washington Ave. April 15-1911." The photograph shows three different fire trucks with long ladders pointed up towards a burning building; Eagan says "#8 truck is at #32 house. That is first one with two men on the aerial ladder."

Postcard with a photograph of "Engine Co. 32 Wagon" in St. Louis, Missouri. Eagan writes in his note on the back that "the driver made a special run" for him as he took the picture. The wagon is running down a street in the city with two firemen hanging off of the back end and two others sitting in the driver's seat. Eagan also asks Pendexter if he knows Chief van Toor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Postcard from J. P. Eagan to George Pendexter regarding the status of Eagan, he is out of the #32 apparatus, and it is he who is seated in the photographed car on the reverse side. The photograph shows Eagan sitting in the driver's seat of a Webb car with an engine from Calgary, Canada; he says that the car is parked in front of the Webb factory.

The photo shows a Webb Engine fire truck belonging to the St. Louis Fire Department in St. Louis, Missouri; the truck is parked outside of Station 43 in the city. Five firemen are also in the picture, four are on the truck and one is sitting in the garage entrance.
