An experimental design to study decommitment in a collaborative multi-agent system in a scheduling domain
This article describes the theoretical background and experimental design of new research based on previous multi-agent research on collaborative agents. The research extends the concept of agent decommitment into a resource scheduling domain. The problem is no longer time constrained, however, the number of agents is increased dramatically. The actual experimentation is yet to be performed. The authors state that results of the experimentation will be reported in a future article.

Effect of Laser Shock Peening Parameters on Residual Stresses and Corrosion Fatigue of AA5083
Article examining Aluminium alloy 5083 subjected to Laser Shock Peening both with (LSP) and without protective coating (LPwC) at multiple pulse densities. A second LPwC treatment was conducted fully submersed under water, in addition to the standard laminar water flow condition. Results show that compressive residual stresses were generated in all cases, although their character varied depending on the peening strategy and method of confinement.

The hygroscopicity of moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) with a gradient fiber structure
This article studies the hygroscopicity of moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) with a gradient fiber structure assessed by a dynamic vapor sorption (DVS) apparatus and fitted with a Haillwood–Horrobin (H–H) model. The effects of the chemical composition, gradient fiber structure, and mesopore structure of the bamboo were also investigated. The results demonstrate that the hygroscopicity of bamboo gradually increases from the outer to the inner layer along the thickness of the culm wall, which is related to the gradient distribution of the fibers. The structure–function relationships between the chemical composition, multi-scale structure, and hygroscopicity identified in this study provide a theoretical basis for bamboo drying and storage technology, as well as the processing and application of bamboo fiber-based composites.

Solution-processed dielectric films and Au RF antenna for temperature sensing
Article discusses how sensing temperature is important for a wide variety of applications such as control systems and instrumentation which are integral to various industrial sectors and in research settings. The authors emphasize the importance of high sensitivity and reliable methods using a frequency-based approach for detecting temperature changes. In their study, Au rectangular single-arm spiral antennas with varying sizes were fabricated and RF S-parameter measurements were conducted over the frequency range of 300 kHz to 20 GHz. Alongside the experimental measurements, they also present results from their simulation analysis conducted using High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) from ANSYS.

Evaluation of Uniformity of Bamboo Bundle Veneer and Bamboo Bundle Laminated Veneer Lumber (BLVL)
In this article the density uniformity and mechanical properties of bamboo bundle veneers were systematically evaluated by the combination of light transmittance and mechanical stiffness. It was found that the number of broomings, dippings, and high-temperature heat treatments had different effects on the bamboo bundle veneers. On this basis, the uniformity of the density and mechanical properties of the bamboo scrimber (BS) that underwent hybrid paving, and the bamboo bundle laminated veneer lumber (BLVL), were analyzed.

Effect of composition and thermal history on deformation behavior and cluster connections in model bulk metallic glasses
Article describes the compositional dependence and influence of relaxation state on the deformation behavior of a Pt–Pd-based bulk metallic glasses model system was investigated, where platinum is systematically replaced by topologically equivalent palladium atoms. Based on total scattering experiments with synchrotron X-ray radiation, a correlation between the increase in stiffer 3-atom cluster connections and reduction in strain-rate sensitivity, as a measure of ductility, with Pd content and thermal history is suggested.
