IN this letter Alexander regrets to inform Davis that after careful consideration after reviewing the proposal they cannot commit.

In regards to their conversation days prior with Davis offering suggestions on how to handle "Friends" award nominations in the future. Suggestions such as the person making the nomination provide additional information besides a letter, the general background on the nominee, contributions to the field of art, letters from two other individuals who support the nominee. This way the committee would have more to consider in their deliberations.

The memo is in regards to a confirmation of the number of funders attending the January 12, 1995 Funders' Dinner by October 21, 1994. Because of the low response, Abel requests that the directors follow up with the funders from each institute who have not yet replied. Attached to the memo is a RSVP list.
