These are documents from the Charles B. Moore Collection. The documents include a clipping and two tickets. The clipping details that P. O'Reilly and W. L. McCormick were elected as alderman to fill the position in their respective wards. On the reverse side of the clipping is a marriage announcement for Linnet Moore and Claude White; the reason this clipping was cut and saved. The tickets were for travel on October 16, 1901 from Dallas to Denison for two passengers on a passenger car designed by the Pullman Company.

Newspaper clipping about the death of Lord Alfred Tennyson including biographical information and an account of his death on October 6, 1892 in London. The reverse contains a partial "Farm and Garden" section with reprints from agricultural publications on how to build a sliding farm gate and mud sled, as well as information about feeding horses, pruning trees, docking horses' tails, and the start of a segment on growing mushrooms in caves.

This document is from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is an editorial written by Jason W. Thomas to the voters of the 5th Congressional District in McKinney, Texas. In this article, Thomas discusses his political platform. He details the issues that he favors and the necessary steps that must be taken to ensure that these issues are addressed properly. This editorial is dated October 18, 1888. Handwritten notes by Charles B. Moore on the reverse of this document details measurements of property in chains. A chain is a unit of measurement which equals 22 yards, 66 feet, or 100 links.

Envelope addressed to H. S. Moore in McKinney, Texas. The envelope was postmarked in Gallatin, Tennessee on October 3, 1885.

Envelope addressed to Miss Linnet Moore in Chambersville, Collin County, Texas. It was sent by Birdie McGee and read by Linnet on October 13, 1987. It is postmarked Gallatin, Tenn. October 7, 1897. The right side of the envelope is torn, and the top right corner, where the stamp would have been, had been cut away. There is some writing in pencil on the back and another postmark from McKinney, Texas on October 9, 1897.

Envelope addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Claude D. White and Mrs. Mary Moore. Mrs. White was the daughter of Mary and C. B. Moore. The letter was sent to Melissa, Texas (Melissa was crossed out) and then McKinney, Texas. It has been stamped, "Forwarded."

Envelope addressed by Mrs. C. D. White (Linnet Moore) and postmarked October 19, 1901. A note on the back of the envelope says that it was the "last letter from father."

Envelope addressed to Mrs. Claude D. White in Fort Worth, Texas. It is from Hogin & McKinley General Insurance and Long Time Loans in Gallatin, Tennessee. It is postmarked Gallatin, Tenn. October 24, 1916. The top right corner, where the stamp would have been, has been torn off. "R7-Box 52" is written in the bottom left corner.

Envelope addressed to C. B. Moore, Rocky Bayou, Izzard County, Arkansas. According to the written note at the bottom left corner, it is from Ziza Moore and family and was received on October 15, 1861. It is postmarked Unionville, Tennessee, October 3rd, but the date October 1, 1861 is written in blue ink. the back of the envelope has been torn off.

Letter to Mrs. Linnet White. She says that the past summer was her busiest and shortest, even when the girls were babies. She will tell Linnet about camping later. She had help from Mrs. Chambers, who is now in California. The family sale happened Saturday and almost everything went wrong. The weather was bad. But they had a good time.

Letter to Mollie Moore, Linnet White, and family from Alice G. discussing family matters and what she has been doing. She writes of Birdie and Will's plans to eventually purchase a farm and her take on the situation. Alice also includes information about their food situation, her sewing projects, and other daily events. At the end, Alice has a brief note directed at Claude White regarding excitement for the election of state senators.

Letter from Alice Griffin to the Moore family in which she up dates them on the health of her family and friends; going to Plano; fixing up an old buggy; and the choice of cloth for Lillian's cloak. She included swatches of the cloth in the letter.

She was glad to receive letters from them. She hopes they are doing well and received Linnet's picture. She mentions the weather and how it is disturbing the planting of wheat. Her horse Mollie died and she has been unable to do anything since. She mentions that Will is working on Dock Dobbin's house. Mr. Griffin went to Springfield to see John Steward. Real estate agents are trying to get the farms to sell to a colony. They ended up joining, but she doesn't think it will work out. Her grandmother was pressured to sell, but she couldn't decide and got upset. She would like to hear about Charles and Linnet's trip. She asks about Sallie W. and gives a message to Bettie. She talks about flowers and who Lillian is asking for. Minnie was supposed to write and she asks that they write back soon.

They are doing well, she had a slight chill and Abe is getting over his cold with medicine given to him from Dr. Woodson. Her and her mother went to see Mr. Donnell and he doesn't look like he has long to live. MRs. Summers looks well. She and Mrs. Montgomery would like to see her. Mollie Love, Mary, and the children visited. They went to edgefield and didn't have to stay the night because the train was behind schedule. They were at her parent's place but her parent's did not realize they were there until they went out to meet them. The children have gotten bigger and are now in school everyday. They are waiting for their boxes to arrive, her father says there is too much fright on the road. Abe is going to town to get more information. She wants to purchase land to start a home but Abe hasn't said anything. She also wants to be together. Her father and mother wrote postal cards and she asks that they write back soon.
