The letter is in regards to a discussion over advocacy programs and wanting to discuss these ideas with school board members / political leaders to have them look in depth at the discipline-based art education and what contributions it makes to the education of the students. Davis and McCarter mention the Texas Association of School Boards, TASB and believe they could be used a vehicle for doing most of the ground work on advocacy. If NTIEVA works with TASB now they can get a presentation together on art education for their annual conference. Davis and McCarter end the letter by thanking Whatley for her ideas and to contact them if she has any others. Starting November 2, 1992, Stankiewicz says she will be the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. The letter she gives her new work address, telephone and fax number.
