Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "James Philip Boyle Jr. will reign as 1990 Beax Arts king. Every year the Beaux Arts Society committee selects the knig based on his civic and personal achievements. The honoree is notified on his selection, but his identity is kept a secret until the evening of the Beaux Arts Ball, which is always held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Boyle was flattered to be selected this year. "It came as a surprise to me," he said, adding that he went to great lengths to keep his identity a secret until the ball. "I would have preffered to buy my tails in Oklahoma City, but I went out of state to buy them to keep it a secret," he confided. Boyle, who serves on the boards of Omniplex Science Museum, said that in the early years of his career as a geologist, he spent a lot time away from home. "I had a rusty door key," he said."
