Patent for an apparatus for handling seed-cotton. This apparatus is designed to move seed-cotton to gin-feeders, then from the condenser to the press, and also for conveying seeds and motes to an area of deposit.

Patent for improvements in tuning-hammers by using a handle having a central square hole closed at its upper end, a ferrule around its lower end adapted to receive a tool. The tool is a T shaped head having holes in the ends of its cross-bar and the end of its shank adapted to fit into the handle that can be used to tune pianos. Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in chimney-cowls by providing a “self-operating smoke-conductor especially adapted for use in all windy climates, to be placed over the discharge-opening of the flues.” (Lines 10-13) So that a “smoke-conductor can be automatically reversed or turned by the wind in any and all directions” (15-18) to carry the smoke away. Patent for improvement in car-coupler particularly to that known as “swing-pin.” This is how it works “a pin comprises a pin proper whose upper end is connected by a chain with the front end of the arm on a horizontal rod. The body of this pin passes through a catch, from which it may be removed.” (Lines 40-45) “The catch has a transverse pin and a rounded upper edge, terminating in a shoulder at its front end and a tongue at its rear end.” (Lines 46-49) Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in coin holders or packages by using three metallic strips, A, B, and C; the end of strips A and B are bent at right angles to the body portions of coins of a particular denomination. Strip C is “pivoted at its ends to the ends of the strips A and B at their point of attachment and adapted to be turned upon its pivots, so as to embrace the edges of the coins contained in the holder.” (Lines 85-89) Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in dry-kiln furnaces by using “a series of furnaces alternating with a series of heating or radiating drums parallel to and on a plane above the furnace,” (Lines 116-119, p. 2) and valved connected flues. This arrangement allowed the “heat being regulated and so distributed through the kiln as to produce a varying temperature, highest at the end where the lumber is introduced and gradually diminishing toward the opposite end, where it is taken out.” (Lines 21-26) Illustration is included.

Patent for improvement in weights for horses’ hoofs by providing “a toe-weight or side weight which will adjust itself to the inclination of the hoof to which it is applied, and further, to provide a weight that will be self-locking, be effectively held against rattling, and be readily attachable and detachable.” (Lines 9-14) Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in tire-heater by using a tire box with a number of horizontal bars, tires are placed “into the front of the box and moved into correct position upon the horizontal bars without necessarily lifting the tires.” (Lines 29-32) Diverging arms are secured to the axis inside the tire box. Lamps are secured at the outer ends of the diverging arms. These diverging arms operate by a regulating crank which makes the lamps revolved beneath the tires, therefore heating the tires. Patent for improvements in plows by using “a double-mold-board plow comprising a plow-point provided with a shank, whose reverse inclines are slightly convex from the upper end of the shank to the plow-point, in combination with two mold-boards that are concavo-convex in cross-section as well as in longitudinal or vertical section” (p. 2, lines 44-50).
