Patent for improving veneer bending through a slower process which allows the entirety of the veneer to be heated.

Patent for a stalk chopper that chops weeds, vines, and stalks into smaller pieces or kills them in order for the ground beneath to be readily cultivated.

Patent for reinforced levees with "means whereby the water will be positively prevented from seeping therethrough and weakening the levee" (lines 14-16).

This design "has for its object to provide a motor of the class . . . that shall possess superior advantages in point of simplicity, cheapness, durability, and general efficiency; and to these ends [the] invention consists in the construction and novel arrangement of parts" (lines 17-23).

Patent for a new and improved rod for wagon gates. This design is "first, to provide a rod that can be readily attached or detached to the end-gate of any wagon or vehicle; second, to provide a rod that will effectually and rigidly hold the end-gate in position and afford practical facility whereby the end-gates of vehicles can be quickly opened or closed and detached from the wagon-bed or placed in their normal position therein" (lines 15-23).

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for simulating pyrotechnic shock for the purpose of qualifying electronic components for use in weapons, satellite, and aerospace applications. According to the invention, a single resonant bar fixture has an adjustable resonant frequency in order to exhibit a desired shock response spectrum upon mechanical impact. The invention eliminates the need for availability of a large number of different fixtures, capable of exhibiting a range of shock response characteristics, in favor of a single tunable system.

The present invention relates to a containment canister for capturing hazardous waste debris during modifications to gloveboxes, or other radiological or biochemical hoods (generally termed gloveboxes therein), that require drilling and welding operations. Examples of such modifications include penetrations for pipe, thermowells, etc. In particular, the present invention relates to an improved containment canister that eliminates the need for costly containment huts and additional man power while at the same time reducing the risk of radiation exposure or other biohazard exposure to workers during glovebox modifications. The present invention also provides an improved hole saw which enables a driller to remove metal shavings and replace the hole saw if there is tooth wear present on the hole saw prior to actually penetrating a glovebox during modifications.

Patent for an improved pump valve designed for a pump for pumping oil from oil wells "which will not be affected by the fluid or gas pressure in the bore" (lines 17-18).

Patent for a pump valve used in pumping oil wells which cleans itself with sand. The valve is simple and cheaply manufactured.

Patent for improving the construction of plows. "The invention relates particularly to that class of plows in which a landslide is permanently attached to the depending portion of the beam." (lines 13-16)

Patent for a new and improved churn-power. This design is "to provide a spring-power and suitable gearing for operating the dasher, with a view of rendering the same in a high degree effective, convenient, and especially adapted to the requirements of service; [and], to afford facilities for the proper adjustment of the device to the different sizes of churns, and to provide for the quick and convenient detaching of the churn from the driving mechanism" (lines 12-21).

Patent for a wire splicer, or a device that connects distinct wires by looping them together. Illustrations included.

Patent for improvements for lamp-adjusting mechanism for one of the lamps of an automobile for operation from driver's seat. The driver is enabled from seat to partially rotate one of the forward lamps, causing the light to follow curve of road.

Patent for a new and improved back-band buckle. This design "is to provide a simple and inexpensive back-band buckle adapted to protect the sides of an animal against rubbing, and capable of enabling the tug-chain to be readily secured thereto and removed therefrom and of securely holding the same without liability of the chain becoming accidentally unfastened" (lines 10-17).

Patent for a new and improved vehicle-top. This design "is to simplify, improve, and cheapen the construction of vehicle-tops . . . and enable the sliding curtain to be more readily and securely fastened to the standards and bows of the carriage-top" (lines 12-18). To this end, it consists in "[t]he combination of the supporting-bows provided with longitudinal grooves, and the curtain-carrying frame comprising flat flexible strips arranged in the said grooves and provided at intervals with inwardly-extending plates having perforations, and the parallel cross-pieces secured to the plates" (lines 84-90).

Patent for a new and improved vehicle-top. This design "consists in the combination, of a vehicle-top, with upright rods having their upper ends bent to conform to the shape of the roof, the upper ends of the rods being secured to strips held on the under side of the roof of the top, and on which rods curtains are held to slide up and down" (lines 12-18).

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design "relates to cultivators; and it has for its object to construct a device of this class . . . in which the blades or shovels shall be attached to the standards in such a manner that in the event of obstacles such as rocks or stumps being encountered during the operation of [the] machine the blades shall become detached, thereby avoiding injury to the machine" (lines 9-18).
