We become hopeless and, not surprisingly, nothing changes. So how can awareness of racial issues become a positive first step toward true racial reconciliation? What can we actually do to begin the process in our lives and churches?"

Led by Jim Bevis and Rex Vermillion, the short-lived ministry touched more than 40,000 students and some 400 campuses. Campus Evangelism "closed its doors" in 1970. Jim Bevis, co-founder of CE, shares his perspective of what happened."

We have a model of leadership that involves ministers/evangelists and elders/pastors. We train ministers but unfortunately have not intentionally developed elders for the church in a post-Christian culture. However, elders emerge in an intentional development ministry."
