Herminger says "Dear Friends: I received your card, glad to hear from you. So you're having frosts up there, I guess we won't have any here, it is too warm here. Glad to hear the war loan is going good up there. Hope it does everywhere. It rained Fri. a little here, the first since we're out here I almost forgot what rain looked like. Ha. It is still wet. Text: "23 Sept 68, Dear Dad, Mike, Shep, San Luis is a pretty pace, muchas bonitas mujeres but I'm itching to get to la Ciudad D. F. So I'm catching the 11:30 A.M. bus out tomorrow so I can register for classes & begin the next day. Having a Corona on you all fellas. Wish me luck, I need it. DMH." The front of the postcard has images of four buildings in San Luis Potosi, identified on the reverse as Teatro de La Paz/La Paz Theatre, Plaza de los Fundadores/The Founders Square, La Caja del Agua/The Water Box, and Palacio de Gubierno/Government Palace.

[26000 Troops in Military Parade #1]

Postcard of the 6th Ohio Band from the military during a parade. Children can be seen walking near the parade following the soldiers on either side. A dog can be seen in the bottom left corner of the photograph, it appears to be following the leader of the parade. On the back of the postcard there is writing. The note says, " 9/21/16. Had Dome Parade. Was 20 miles long. Carl. El Paso."

[Mexican Women - Cooking]

Postcard photograph image of Mexican women. According to the creator of this postcard, the Mexican women are preparing food and cooking. A young girl is also part of this group of women. On the back of the postcard: '(One of many groups of women who follow up the Mexican Army, preparing dinner. Note the pool of filth - the flies don't show.) Will write soon. Very busy just now. Soldiers pay day tomorrow. Hope you are ok, I am. Yours, Walter.' This postcard was mailed to Mrs. Henry Horne, Lauder Hill, Hallowell Maine. This postcard is post marked El Paso, Texas, September 2, 1912. This postcard has a 1 cent green Benjamin Franklin stamp on it. The Benjamin Franklin stamp is ca. 1909. There is advertising on the wall behind the women.

[Southwest Desert Scenery]

The postcard caption reads: Typical southwestern scenery, showing [sic] sandy character of the country. Desert foliage and mountains. Visible in this desert scene are many wild yucca plants and the desert mountains in the background. The prominent plant here is the Yucca plant or Yucca carnerosana also known as the Giant Spanish Dagger. This postcard was addressed and mailed to; Miss G.M. Horne, Portland, Maine. The date is September, 13, 1918. The author of the postcard is Walter Horne. The postcard message reads: Went to church yesterday to register; the first time since you and I went in Pueblo. Hope you are well. I am ok this summer, but awfully busy and lots of trouble. I leave tomorrow for good probably. He has been in Deming and hasn't been over to El Paso for eight months. [Battle of Ciudad Juárez, 1911 #2]

The image was taken from one corner of the building and there are groups of people wearing formal clothing and hats standing along both visible sides, including several looking into the interior from atop rubble where the corner of the building is missing.
