The handwriting at the bottom of the postcard is signed by John H. Carper and dated August 16, 1918. Carper has crossed out generated sentences, stating he is quite well and has received someone's letter dated July 18, 1918. On the back of the postcard, the addressee is Mrs. John H. Carper at 818 Austin St., Houston, Texas.

It is postmarked Kansas City, Missouri August 17, 1917, and the date Aug 28 is also stamped on the front. The return address is written on the back, along with some other handwritten notes. The right edge of the envelope has been torn.

Letter from Claude White to his children in which he inquires about their travels and a missing trunk. He also mentions the little that he's been doing around town, and laments their separation.

There is an envelope addressed to Mr. C. D. White in Fort Worth, Texas. The envelope is from The Shirley Hotel in Denver, Colorado, and there is a graphic of the hotel on it.

Letter from Linnet and Ruth White to Claude D. White. Ruth's letter to her father included a picture that she drew of herself and a man in uniform in front of mountains. Linnet discusses a side trip she plans to take, a visit to Washington Park, and she tells him that she will be heading to Manitou next. There is an envelope addressed to Mr. Claude D. There is an envelope addressed to Mr. Claude D. White in Fort Worth, Texas. It is postmarked Colorado Springs, Colorado August 6, 1917.
