It also includes Betty Ann's family history and how they coped with the Great Depression, information on her education at North Texas State College, and her personal experiences about marriage, the death of her husband in a flying accident, widowhood, her marriage to Frank Barrow, her clothing business, and working to liberalize Denton race relations. The interview includes an appendix with photographs, a photograph legend, a letter sent out to family members, a pamphlet for The Barrow Society, and an editorial piece about Frank Barrow.

She recalls her childhood in East Texas and in Gainesville, Texas; brief marriage to a man; coming out narrative; experiences managing bars in Dallas; experiences during the AIDS crisis; relationships with LGBT community; decision to open Mable Peabody’s, and experiences there.

Interview with Judge Sarah T. Hughes, former state legislator, state district judge, and federal district judge. In the interview, Sarah describes her experiences and personal views concerning the Sharpstown stock-fraud scandal, the Dallas County Jail, the constitutionality of abortion, and the desegregation of the Dallas Independent School District.

Interview with Ben Barnes, who was the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives in 1964-68, the lieutenant governor in 1968-72, and a Democrat from Austin, Texas. In the interview, Barnes shares his thoughts and opinions on several procedures, laws, and political decisions, including reapportionment, the “one-man, one vote” decision of U.S. Supreme Court, state water systems, and state employee pay raise. He also comments on federal-state relations, revisions of Code of Criminal Procedures, industrial safety law, voter registration, the reform of liquor laws and pari-mutuel betting, revenue legislation, and one-year versus two-year budgeting. Barnes comments on fellow politician Governor John Connally.

Interview with Dr. Paul Smith, a professor at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. Smith discusses his experience during the election process for a new university president in 1968, following the retirement of James Carl Matthews.

Interview with Representative Tip Hall, a member of the House of Representatives from Ennis, Texas. Hall discusses his experiences attending the 66th Legislative Session for the state of Texas, his initial race for the Texas Legislature, his political stance, the appropriations bill, and bills related to public school education.

Interview with Adrienne Griffen, the Executive Director of the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance from Arlington, Virginia. Griffen discusses her family, time as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy, education, her own experience with postpartum depression, becoming an advocate, Postpartum Support International, other leaders and organizations in her field, postpartum psychosis, statistics, and treatments.

Interview with Ignaz Gorischek, a fashion consultant from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Gorischek discusses his forty years of work in the department store industry, specifically in luxury retail, opening stores and putting on exhibits with Neiman Marcus, leaving Neiman's to work at a design firm in Dallas, and working with students at the University of North Texas.

Interview with farmer Otis Cason. The interview includes Cason's personal experiences about rural life in Denton County, Texas from 1900 to 1987. Cason talks about breaking mules, rural school, sheep and goat raising, hog killing, and charcoal making.

Interview with homemaker Jane Armstrong. The interview includes Armstrong's personal experiences about life on the Scott Jacobs Farm in Denton County. Armstrong talks about the purchase of the land by her grandfather, implements and outbuildings found on the farm, oil income and farm improvements during the 1920s and 1930s, rural entertainment and leisure activities, crops and planting, food preservation, in-town shopping, making homebrew and bootlegging activities, schools and churches, cemeteries, epidemics, and folk medicines and remedies.

Interview with William Whitman, a Army Air Force WWII veteran from Denton, Texas, who served with General Curtis LeMay. Whitman discusses flight training, becoming a heavy bomber pilot, service in the European theater, joining LeMay's staff, and stories about LeMay's work and personality.

Interview with Wick Fowler, a journalist from Big Sandy, Texas. The interview includes his early career as a reporter, impressions of Martin Dies, Shivers gubernatorial campaign of 1950, as well as his experiences as appointments secretary to Governor Allan Shivers and observations of Stevenson-Johnson senatorial race of 1948.
