Interview with Jerell E. Crow. He entered the Coast Guard in 1940 and trained in Florida and New York City. He served aboard a Landing Ship, Tank (LST) when those ships were first introduced. He traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the Neville Island Shipyard operated by the Dravo Corporation as part of a crew that brought an LST down the Mississippi River to New Orleans. From there, the crew practiced operations at Biloxi, Mississippi. Eventually, Crow travelled to San Diego aboard the LST through the Panama Canal. From there, he went to Guadalcanal and unloaded tanks. Eventually, his ship was hit at Saipan and he was wounded. He also served aboard an LST during the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Afterwards, Crow's LST was present in Tokyo Bay for the surrender. He visited Hiroshima while on occupation duty after the atomic bomb was dropped. Eventually, his LST made its way back to San Francisco where he was discharged.

Interview with Ed Carseth, a pilot during World War II. He discusses an early interest in aviation and earned his pilot's license through the Civilian Pilot Training program. He spent a year as an instructor before joining the Air Transport Command. Through 1944 he delivered aircraft to Australia before being assigned to Myitkyina, Burma. He speaks of living conditions at Myitkyina. He flew materials over the Himalaya Mountains (the Hump) from Burma to Kunming, China. Carseth relates anectdotes about General Claire Chennault, Lord Louis Mountbatten, and a squadron mate who kept a baboon.

Interview with Army veteran Archie Gantt. The interview includes Gantt's personal experiences about the European Theater during World War II, boyhood in central Texas, basic training, shipping to England, combat on the Siegfried Line, and the Battle of the Bulge. Additionally, Gantt talks about leadership problems, combat living conditions, Officer Candidate School and commissioning, and his postwar war service in Europe.

Interview with Norman Mailer, novelist and Army veteran. The interview includes Mailer's personal experiences about World War II in the Philippines, Army life, jungle patrols, and the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay. Mailer talks about the role of his wartime experiences in his novel, The Naked and the Dead.

Interview with Mervin Garver. The interview includes Garver's personal experiences about education and childhood during the Great Depression, being a defense worker at Riverside Foundry, blackouts and air raid wardens, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt's visits to Wrightsville by train. Garver also talks about his draft classification as 4-F due to psychoneurosis, his personal feelings about being classified as 4-F, local reactions to his 4-F status, the production of hand grenade and radar cores at Riverside Foundry, the financial and patriotic incentives to increase war production, the purchase of war bonds and stamps, employment of women and wartime shortages, rationing of food and gasoline, the "Victory Bus," effects of WW II on his personal finances and on the postwar lives of Wrightsville's citizens, the transition from wartime to peacetime production at Riverside Foundry, and his memories of post-World War II Memorial Day celebrations.

Interview with Army veteran James Riley Chennault. The interview includes Chennault's personal experiences about the Southwest Pacific Theater during World War II, childhood in Mississippi, moving to Texas in 1939, joining the 112th Cavalry, training, combat, and the Battle of Driniumor River. Chennault also talks about the mobilization of the Texas National Guard, Louisiana Maneuvers as part of the 3rd Army, rotation to the states, his assignment to a pack mule outfit, his discharge from the Army, and the daily routine of life in the horse cavalry. The interview includes an appendix with photographs.

Interview with Navy veteran Melvin R. "Pancho" Baird. It includes a combination of interviewing and reading from Baird's personal correspondence about his pre-World War II experiences with the U.S. Asiatic Fleet and his later experiences in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Baird talks about his stationing aboard the destroyer USS Alden as a radioman, the grounding of the SS President Hoover off of Hoishito Island, the Sino-Japanese War, liberty ashore various Asian port cities, events on the South China Patrol, civilian activities after his discharge, activities as a radio technician on Blue Beach during the Okinawan Campaign, kamikaze actions on Okinawa, and typical shipboard routine.

Interview with truck driver Vick Edmiston. The interview includes Edmiston's personal experiences about being employed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. The interview includes an appendix with a photograph.

Interview with Army veteran Ted A. Crozier. The interview includes Crozier's personal experiences about his service as an aviation officer for General Olinto Barsanti, commander of the 101st Airborne Division. Crozier talks about his Pre-Vietnam reminiscences about Barsanti and his role in facilitating the transition of the 101st Airborne Division to the use of helicopters.

Interview with Jerome D. Fox, an OS2U Kingfisher gunner aboard the cruiser USS Detroit in the Pacific Theater during World War II. The interview includes Fox's personal experiences about childhood on a ranch in West Texas, enlisting in the Navy, boot camp at San Diego, California, aerial gunner school at Naval Air Station, Modesto, California, his assignment to the OS2U crew aboard the USS Detroit, patrol duty in the Aleutian Islands, bombardment of the Kurile Islands, South American patrol, his assignment to the Central Pacific Theater as an escort for the Tanker Division in refueling carrier battle groups, kamikaze attacks, operations off Iwo Jima and Okinawa, the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay, and his postwar activities.

Interview with longtime Denton residents Frank and Betty Ann Barrow for the Denton County Historical Commission. The interview includes Frank's personal experiences about his childhood and moving to Denton, having a career as a radio announcer, serving in the Special Services division of the Army Air Forces, having a career as an automobile dealer, insurance agent, and haberdasher in Denton, working with a Methodist church, being involved in the Denton Community Theatre, serving on the Denton City Council, and his political career as mayor of Denton. It also includes Betty Ann's family history and how they coped with the Great Depression, information on her education at North Texas State College, and her personal experiences about marriage, the death of her husband in a flying accident, widowhood, her marriage to Frank Barrow, her clothing business, and working to liberalize Denton race relations.
