A year ago this month, Harris became the first black female general in the Air Force. Since then, she has served as vice commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logisitics Center located at Tinker, and is the first black and first woman to have a command there. The center is one of five in the United States that maintain the Air Force's worldwide aerospace weapon systems. Harris helps oversee the maintenance of aircraft, aircraft engines, missiles and support equipment.
