The photograph is mounted to a black cardstock, which has an inscription on the back reading, "Miss Annie Belle Emery 1911," and she is denoted on the image with a question mark at the bottom of her jacket. The back of the board also has printed texts about the Manitou and Pike's Peak Railway, and the photographers imprint "J. F. Hiestand, official photographer."

Degree certificate with the text: "The University of Texas has conferred on Frances Marion Allen the degree Bachelor of Arts and all the rights and privileges thereunto appertaining In witness thereof, this diploma duly signed has been issued and the seal of the University affixed. Issued by the Board of Regents upon recommendation of the faculty at Austin on this the twenty-sixth day of August, A.D., 1929."
