Bradbury advises that he concludes Beatrice Jackson as the owner of a half interest in the property and Carswell is the owner of the other half if in fact Mrs. Beatrice Jackson is the former Beatrice Whitley.

[Letter from Claude Lloyd to T. N. Carswell - August 2, 1960]

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Claude Lloyd, Ashland, New Hampshire, dated August 2, 1960. Lloyd advises that two summers from now he will be retired and that having lived in an Academy house for years he will be required to find another place. He describes the setting of an old farm house with three acres that he bought 28 years ago and has been working on during summers but now must complete for year-round habitation. He conveys his love for Texas and advises that his visit three years ago proved that there is no gap in his life. He describes his years in Massachusettes; "Living and sometimes competing with these Mayflower-Harvard names is sometimes a bit galling, more often amusing. Generally, I find it more gratifying to shock than to please them". He expresses his appreciation to Carswell for the call, letter and kind considerations for some fifty years making note of their lasting friendship even after years of separation.

A letter written to Miss Muller from T. N. Carswell, dated August 12, 1965. Carswell advises Muller as to the condition of Dr. Cyrus N. Ray giving an account of some activities involving Dr. Ray which caused his concern. He advises, in a postscript, that there seems to be a gradual weakening of Ray's mental condition. Notation at top of page reads "A. D. Ray, Lubbock, Tx" dated June 7, 1966. The reverse side includes business letterhead of Little Tuffy Mfg. Co. A Division of Abilene Machine Co., 1342 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas and bears Assurance Opaque Parchment watermark.

Walton acknowledges a telephone conversation with Carswell and includes the address of Dr. Allen J. Moon as per the request from Carswell noting that Dr. Moon might appreciate a card for his 93rd birthday. Notation handwritten by Carswell indicates he sent a card to Dr. Moon on September 9, 1966.
