A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Mattie Lee Tucker, Abilene, Texas, dated August 24, 1962. Tucker expresses her appreciation for Carswell's help stating that one never knows when little things may help and in this business there is not very much of that done.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Claude Lloyd, Ashland, New Hampshire, dated August 2, 1960. Lloyd advises that two summers from now he will be retired and that having lived in an Academy house for years he will be required to find another place. He describes the setting of an old farm house with three acres that he bought 28 years ago and has been working on during summers but now must complete for year-round habitation. He conveys his love for Texas and advises that his visit three years ago proved that there is no gap in his life. He describes his years in Massachusettes; "Living and sometimes competing with these Mayflower-Harvard names is sometimes a bit galling, more often amusing. Generally, I find it more gratifying to shock than to please them". He expresses his appreciation to Carswell for the call, letter and kind considerations for some fifty years making note of their lasting friendship even after years of separation.

A letter written to Mrs. Elna Peagler Davis from Norwood [T. N. Carswell], dated August 14, 1969. Carswell expresses his sympathy to Davis on the death of her mother. Handwritten notation includes Davis Brothers Florists, Waycross, Georgia.

A letter written to Omar Burleson from T. N. Carswell, dated August 2, 1967. Carswell endorses Howard Caldwell in his application for work with the U. S. Government. He describes the family background and work ethics of Caldwell and expresses his appreciation to Omar for his offer to help.

A letter written to Mrs. Beatrice Jackson, Los Angeles, California 90003, from T. N. Carswell, dated August 7, 1969. Carswell advises Jackson that he paid the Taxes on Lewis lot No. 24, City Taxes, for 1968 noting this lot is now owned by Jackson and Carswell.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Bryan Bradbury, Bradbury, Tippen & Cross, Abilene, Texas, dated August 28, 1969. Bradbury advises that he concludes Beatrice Jackson as the owner of a half interest in the property and Carswell is the owner of the other half if in fact Mrs. Beatrice Jackson is the former Beatrice Whitley.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas 79601, from Albert J. Alsdorf, Assessor-Collector, (Mrs.) Juanita Kring, City of Abilene Texas, dated August 12, 1969. Lot 24, Block 147, Outlot 1, Lewis, Original Town, Abilene. Alsdorf advises Carswell that they will be unable to divide the lot into two parts, so it will be left in Bernice Jackson's name.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from D. C. Leeds, Executive Service Sales, Prentice-Hall, Inc., Englewood Cliffs, N. J. 0763,2 dated August 5, 1964. An advisement that a Mr. William Ballew, of Fort Worth, Texas would contact Carswell regarding his recent inquiry.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Omar Burleson, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., dated August 8, 1967. Burleson expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell regarding Howard Caldwell which enabled him to make a more personal intervention in Caldwell's behalf regarding application to A.I.D. United States Agency for International Development.

Carswell, signed by Preston Harrison, M.D., Superintendent. The reverse side includes rules and regulations concerning absence from Texas State mental hospitals.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from W. Truett Walton, Vice-President and Director of Summer School, Hardin-Simmons University, Diamond Jubilee 1891-1966 dated August 8, 1966. Walton acknowledges a telephone conversation with Carswell and includes the address of Dr. Allen J. Moon as per the request from Carswell noting that Dr. Moon might appreciate a card for his 93rd birthday. Notation handwritten by Carswell indicates he sent a card to Dr. Moon on September 9, 1966.

He says the drilling of such tracts is handled by the Railroad Commission under Rule 31; He thinks the rule is being abused by professionals nicknamed the 'Rule 37 Operators' and hopes the Railroad Commission addresses it.
