Report of elemental date from a Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) of the Hamilton National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) quadrangle in Montana/Idaho: "The HSSR is part of the United States Department of Energy's National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE), which is designed to provide improved estimates of the availability and economics of nuclear fuel resources and make available to industry information for use in the development and production of uranium resources" (p. 1).

This report presents uranium and other elemental data resulting from the Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) of the Dubois NTMS quadrangle in Idaho and Montana. Totals of 1024 water samples and 1600 sediment samples were collected from 1669 locations in the Dubois quadrangle. Water samples were taken at streams, springs, and wells; sediment samples were collected from streams and springs.

This study examines the controversy regarding Hells Canyon on the Snake River, North America's deepest gorge. Throughout the 1950s, federal and private electric power proponents wrangled over who would harness the canyon's potential for generating hydroelectricity. After a decade of debate, the privately-owned Idaho Power Company won the right to build three small dams in the canyon versus one large public power structure. The thesis concludes that private development of Hells Canyon led to incomplete resource development. Further, support of private development led to extensive Republican electoral losses in the Pacific Northwest during the 1950s.

From introduction: This report details the study to determine whether it might be worthwhile to attempt to recover uranium-bearing minerals that were previously dredged in a gold exploration in 1951 and discarded.

A report about uranium bearing multiple oxide minerals first recognized in the jig-bed concentrate of the Tyee Mining Company's gold dredge on the Red River. The gravels of the placer deposits were derived from the Idaho batholith and a roof pendant of Precambrian rocks in the batholith.
