Onionskin carbon copy of letter from John J. Herrera, National Organizer of LULAC, to Graham Barden, Chairman, Committee on Child Labor and Education, House of Representatives, Washington, D.C., dated August 31, 1951. It is also copied to Texas Congressman Albert Thomas. LULAC opposes any change in the Federal Child Labor Laws. Texas ranchers and agricultural interests are trying to change the law to allow children of school age to work in the cotton fields during school hours.
