Caption: "Larry Shock view entertainment while Cheryl Self chews on pretzl. 9article) To help youth have a better understanding of Christ, the Nichols Hills Baptist Church has rented a vacant church building at 2472 NW 39 and opened a "coffee house." Times photographer Dave Heaton visited Scarborough Hall, as the youths call the coffee house, for the above pictures. Bob Bender, youth director at the church, said there are three programs a night. The first part of the program is 35 minutes of entertainment featuring bands from around the city, she said. This is followed by 20 minutes of preaching. The preaching is called "testimony time" and is conducted by youths who tell "what being a Christian means to me" Bender heads up the program. The coffee house is opened Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m."
